Getting Started

Choosing an energy system

The most important questions…
• Do you want just a back up system for when there is no power?
• Do you want a combination of photovoltaic (PV) and back up power?
• Do you want to be off the grid completely?
• Do you want to save money on your electrical bill?
These factors will determine the type and scale of system required.

The best and most comprehensive approach in determining
the system most suitable for you would be a good old fashioned telephone conversation. Just like in the old days. In turn, this would lead to a site visit.

The heart of the system

At the heart of every energy
system is the inverter and with
so many brands and types out
there, we have made it really
simple.

We work with the industry
leader only. A European
company with over fifty years

And the battery size?

Think of the battery as your car fuel tank. If you have a lot of devices that draw a lot of power, you will need the correctly sized battery

What size inverter?

There are two factors here:

1. The first is to consider the type of appliances or devices what you want to power.
2. The second is for how long you want to power the devices for.

For example, if you would like to power lighter electronics such as computers, internet, lights and a fridge or freezer, then a smaller size inverter would be applicable.

If you would like to power an entire household, then a larger size inverter would be essential.

Think of the inverter as your car engine. If you want to tow a big caravan on a long journey with a tiny engine, it is not going to work. You won’t be able to pull the caravan. You won’t go anywhere. A more powerful engine would be needed
